Mass Effect Maverick Almost Done - New Steampunk Lanard X8

Yes, back on the computer where I can do a proper update..ok, proper for me anyways..hehe. Some of these will be familiar, but I got photos with the DSLR this time :) I'll be on vacation next week so I'm hoping to get a lot done and actually do some spring cleaning...in the fall. Yep. Hehe

Kind of Blase Runner inspired, but not after any particular gun. Borrowed the slide for the photo, but the final one will look more like the body..I think.. Lousy iP4 photo..come on 4S!!

Almost ready for the third masking

Working on a Mass Effect themed Vigilon. It's further along by quite a bit, but this was the last photo :)

It got some white shoes! Almost done
Photobucket

More of a prop, but with the skinny barrel removed it will still shoot darts! Scope is a stand-in for the LS scope to be used in the final version

Photo Jackpot Edition!

Welcome back Folks! You're just in time for the photo avalanche!

Got a lot of stuff moved along enough to get some photos. I've also included a few that are just starting the trip, but thought you'd enjoy seeing them "before" and after :)

The Vulcan is probably my favorite for this week, but I'm really liking how the N7 Maverick is coming along. That should be done soon. Expect more photos soon, I kept a lot of stuff secret for now...ooh mysterious, right?

Have a great weekend and we'll meet back here soon!

Brian

Ok, with all the lip flapping out of the way, on to the photozzzz sorry some might be the dreaded iP4 versions, now in "Low-Rez w/ bad color correction!" :)

HALO Themed Vulcan is finally all done. Adding the dust and dirt was nerve-wracking :)

Another one of the tiny cap guns. Very cute little thing! Steampunk Baby? Hmm..

One of my little squirt guns. I was testing out the water-slide decals made by Chris over at http://vaultlol.com. Check out his awesome Fallout props!
Photobucket

Photobucket

I think this one is Mars themed? I made it to test out doing chipping and ended up liking the different color scheme. This was kina what started all the red guns..plus I bought a lot of red paint. Waste not-want not! :)

Retro Mass Effect Maverick. Just for fun and still in progress

Photobucket

Yep, had to make some kinda Mass Effect themed Scout too

Photobucket

Going for a kinda "Covenant" coloration on this one. the perp color is a bit off in this photo

Photobucket

Just a simple brass squirtgun. I really like these for some reason..

Photobucket

All I can tell you is that I work long hours...and I've wanted to paint one since last year :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Blue Halo-themed Scout with a lot of subtle color changes and whatnots..yes, I want the decal a bit (read: a lot) smaller, but the vinyl is very tough to separate when the pieces are any smaller

Ok, my clicky finger is tired. Hope you enjoyed the pics and if you like this stuff, please tell a friend. Or an enemy BEFORE you hit em. Please and Thanks! ;)

Proton and Praxis Obtained!

I hope you all are finding your own Vortex guns at the local stores, I know I'm seeing people posting on Facebook with their "early" finds. I managed to grab a Proton and Praxis after work and have spent part of the evening shooting my walls with little green frizbees :) I took a few photos of them in stock form so no shocking spy photos here, but I figured I better post a few just in case you haven't found better ones already online.

They shoot great and I think they'll make great props. Expect to see them worked into the schedule next week. Let the spring and screw losing being!

So I really like the packaging on the new guns. I expect more from the dart guns now. I do not want to be able to touch the gun before I open the box! :)
Photobucket

The Praxis - the cocking mechanism seems to delay shooting the next round for just a fraction of a second, but maybe I'm just imagining things...still love the gun and it's design. For the price I kinda expected some scope that would compliment the gun. Ah well...just gotta buy the big daddy for that bit of kit :)
Photobucket

The Proton - It's small, but it's awesome in my opinion. using the little side levers to load the disk makes me smile for some weird reason. I'm going to have fun with this one for sure :)

More photos soon - lots of new stuff :)

Custom NERF Vigilon gets some paint and Jayne’s Vera gets some character!

Sorry for a short post tonight, but I wanted to get a few photos up before heading out. I painted the rear part of the Vigilon to get a sense of the color-scheme (military/HALO-ish) and from that I think the gun will look pretty cool when it's all done. I also started breaking up the canvas that is my NERF version of Vera from the TV show Firefly. That's one heck of a detailed prop and so I'm doing my best to replicate the different surfaces. I'm certain it will look good when it's done, but I'm shooting for great so we'll see how the next week goes!

Enjoy the pictures and thank you for visiting my humble little blog site. :)
